Call Sign...Roadkill
I'm a denizen of the massive multiplayer
game world. As RodeKill, I appear in a collection of historically
accurate interactive combined arms and 'heavy iron' (WW II) combat
simulators. These games allow as many as 1500 players from all over
the world to assemble in a cyber world area and participate in mass
missions with and against each other.
I began with the pioneering. ..and still most
reliable...unfortunately extinct… GENIE on-line service. I flew for
A Land as RodeKill with the .38 Specials. I was wingman to
Hollywood, the CO, on squad night. I only shot him down once. Air
Warrior ultimately failed to migrate to Windows format, and
disappeared as an on-line game. The action was so realistic, the
text for the game was the same as one used at 'Top Gun' for training
real world fighter pilots.
The successor to Air Warrior in the heavy iron world is…IMHOP… Aces High. My preferred aircraft are the F6F-3 'Hellcat' and the P- 51 D 'Mustang
Most of my current on-line gaming time is focused on Battle Ground Europe. This combined arms game presents a historically realistic scenario portraying the outbreak of fighting on the Western Front of Europe in 1940. We recreate the struggle to save France from the Axis blitzkrieg. I’m member of the 23rd Armored Division 23rd Armor Forums. We're the go-to combined arms task force that sets the pace for the Allies and beats back any Axis breakthrough and keeps them reeling. Although the Axis side wins the majority of times because of more advanced equipment, it’s possible to conclude that if the Allies had had better leadership and a less rigid combat doctrine the outcome in the real world would have been very different.
My enthusiasm is greater than my scores! I love the games, and have learned even more respect for real infantrymen, tankers, fighter pilots and combat flight crews than I had even when I was in the Air Force!

When I'm not being roadkill, or making roadkill as a fighter pilot, I'm a better than average gunner on bombers. I favor the top turret on the B-17g. I do fairly well on defense with a sub machine gun. I’m a good tank commander on offense. I follow orders well. When I say “I have your six!” you never have to worry, 'cause I'll be there!
